MARBLE HARP AMPLIFIERS

Most Harp amplifiers on the market today are just modified guitar amps. In our opinion harp amplification deserves a more serious approach. That is why Marble harp amps are purpose-built for harmonica and blue-harp amplifcation only. The Main circuitry is tuned to the specific frequency characteristics of the harp in combination with a wide variety of classic bullet microphones.

In our harp amps we use output transformers that closely resemble well known vintage designs with respect to bobbin-type, interleaving and lamination to obtain the prefect mix of smooth tone and compression.

The final link in the signal path is the loudspeaker. In collaboration with the technical development team of the Jensen Company we have created a new 8 inch loudspeaker for our harp range. The specially designed "Marble Bluetone" has a classic appearance and a solid heavy duty construction. The sound is absolutely vintage with a smooth, distinct midrange and warm low end. When pushed, screaming leads with an agressive growl are easily produced.

Our Max, Bluesonic, Harpwood and Harpmaster are developed in close support with our friend and great performer Ben Bouman 'the Dutch Harpmaster'. Currently Ben teaches harmonica and bluesharp playing throughout The Netherlands, the UK, Germany and Belgium. His harp technique workshops are very popular. He drops by in our shop on a regular basis to give our harp amps a check up before shipping out. We want to thank Ben for his enthousiasm and very useful feedback and we are very happy that he stays so closely committed to our shared goal: the quest for blues tone. Ben currently appears on sessions with the MAX or Bluesonic, and on stage with the 4x8 Harpwood or, his stock 6x8 Harpmaster, covered in 'sexy red' tolex.

Pieter “Big Pete” van der Pluim is frequently asked to advise us as an “second opinion”. Big Pete has gained fame throughout Europe for is role as frontman in the Lester Butler Tribute Band and various other high quality Bluesbands such as the Strikes and the Marble Allstars Band. Big Pete currently plays a stock Harpmaster with 4x10 Weber Alnico P10Q speakers.
